I’m fascinated by my Nintendo Wii, web applications, and innovation. My passions are economic development, surfing (which is tough since I live in the desert), cooking, and education. My wife Shannon is my high school sweetheart, and we live in Las Vegas. Newlywed life is great, except she has to watch TV before bed, and I can’t fall asleep when the TV is on. We’re working it out.

I am a rapid learner and intuitive strategist with a record of making things happen that’s always looking for opportunities to take something already successful and make it truly excellent. Find your Strengths with Gallup’s StrengthsFinder.

School

Radcliffe Quad and Pforzheimer HouseI graduated from Harvard with a degree in physics in 2005. I took courses in economics, genetics, chinese history, latin american politics, psychology, jazz music, complex analyis, and computer science.

I volunteered at the Institute of Politics and led the task force that conceived the Harvard Presidential Candidates series live on MSNBC’s Hardball in 2004. I also brought christmas caroling back to Harvard Yard as president of Harvard Episcopal Students.

After graduation, I worked as an economic research analyst at the Rappaport Institute for Greater Boston for Prof. Ed Glaeser, my favorite economics professor. I even got my name in a published paper dispelling the myths of the red state-blue state phenomenon.

Websites, Online Marketing, and Small Business CTO

I built websites for small companies and non-profits during college and kept it going as a side business for a few more years after finishing college. I specialized in providing advice to small organizations who do not have a CTO. I have experience setting up blogs, Google AdWords, e-mail newsletters, wikis, and online fundraising.

Bob Beers for Nevada Governor 2006

I traveled across Nevada with Bob Beers (beers4nevada.org) and saw what a beautiful state it is. Within a couple months of starting, I was promoted to fundraising director. I wrote the campaign’s weekly email newsletter, redesigned the website, wrote direct mail to our supporters, and organized a few fundraisers. I had no experience when I started, but I learned quickly, and with Bob’s hard work, we managed to double monthly donations to the campaign in two months.
